Aspen Fingerless Mitts
The Aspen Fingerless Mitts crochet pattern is available to purchase from Ravelry and Etsy!
After designing the Aspen Hat, I fell in love with the stitch pattern and thought it would be fun to create a matching pair of fingerless mitts. Since I often wear fingerless mitts in the cooler months—especially while crocheting—they seemed like the perfect next project! They keep my hands warm while allowing full movement of my fingers and thumbs, making them both practical and cosy.
This was my first time designing fingerless mitts, so it was a learning experience. I started with a simple design, unsure if they would turn out as I’d envisioned, but I couldn’t be happier with the result! The stitch pattern creates a warm, textured fabric without feeling too bulky, allowing for comfort and ease of movement
Just like the Aspen Hat, the matching mitts are worked from the bottom up and feature a classic ribbed cuff. They’re a great addition to your winter accessories and make a perfect handmade gift!

Construction

The Aspen Fingerless Mitts are made from the bottom up, starting with the ribbing for the cuff. The ribbing is worked back loop only crochet stitches. You can easily customise the brim width. Simply add extra stitches to the brim if you need a wider brim or for a narrower brim simply work less stitches in the row.
The main body of each mitt is worked in rows with a variety of single crochet and double crochet stitches.
There are no decreases which make this an easy project for beginners looking for more of a challenge.
The Aspen Fingerless Mitts are seamed together leaving a hole for your thumb.
