Amberleaf Hat
The Amberleaf Hat crochet pattern is available to purchase from Ravelry and Etsy!
Sometimes I get the inspiration for a pattern from the yarn and that’s what happened with this pattern. I originally bought the Red Heart Super Saver Bitty Stripes yarn to crochet pumpkins but I didn’t get around to using it, then forgot I had it, so as I was going through my yarn stash I came across it and knew I had to make the Amberleaf Hat crochet pattern.
Since the yarn is medium weight acrylic and feels quite thick, I really wanted this hat pattern to have lots of texture and I didn’t want the texture to get lost in the beautiful colours.
I have since made the this hat in a variety of medium weight yarns and I’ve been really happy with the results, I hope you like this crochet pattern as much as I do.

Construction
The Amberleaf Hat is made from the bottom up, starting with the ribbing for the brim. The ribbing is worked using hdc stitches. You can easily customise the brim width. Simply just add extra stitches to the brim if you need a wider brim or work less stitches for a narrower brim.
The main body of the hat is worked with a variety of half double crochet and double crochet stitches.
There are round decreases for shaping towards the crown, after the last round you will use your yarn needle and the yarn tail to close up the hole and fasten off.
The Amberleaf hat can be finished off with a pom pom or worn as a beanie.
