Meadow Hat

The Meadow Hat crochet pattern is available to purchase from Ravelry and Etsy!

I enjoyed designing and crocheting the Aspen Hat and Fingerless Mitts so much that I was inspired to create another set featuring a beautifully textured stitch pattern that is both interesting to work and comfortable to wear. After experimenting with different stitch combinations, I am really happy with the stitch I chose, it provides wonderful texture and depth without creating bulk—just like the Aspen Hat

The Meadow Hat is worked from the bottom up with a double-ribbed brim and a simple yet striking two-row repeat stitch pattern for the main body. The coordinating Fingerless Mitts complement the hat perfectly, making this set a stylish and practical addition to any wardrobe. I love how this design has come together, and I hope you enjoy crocheting it as much as I do!

Construction

The Meadow Hat is made from the bottom up, starting with the ribbing for the brim. The ribbing is worked using back loop only crochet stitches. You can easily customise the brim width. Simply just add extra stitches to the brim if you need a wider brim or for a narrower brim simply work less stitches in the row.

The main body of the hat is worked with a variety of single crochet, double crochet and cluster stitches.

There are round decreases for shaping towards the crown, after the last round you will use your yarn needle and the yarn tail to close up the hole and fasten off.

The Meadow Hat can be finished off with a pom pom or worn as a beanie.

Have fun with your crochet, whatever your next project may be!
