Avery Hat
The Avery Hat crochet pattern is available to purchase from Ravelry and Etsy!
The inspiration for this hat came while I was helping out at the local Scouts bonfire. A lady visited the stall I was volunteering at, wearing a beautifully textured, black-and-white knitted hat. It was bold, striking, and instantly caught my eye.
The next day, inspired by that striking hat, I set out to create my own version—one that would be just as eye-catching while incorporating a variety of stitches and color options to make the project both fun and engaging. After plenty of trial and error, I finally arrived at the Avery Hat.
This pattern holds a special place in my heart, as it was the very first one I wrote with the hope of one day sharing it with others. I truly hope you enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed designing it! Be creative and have fun experimenting with different color combinations!

Construction
The Avery Hat is made from the bottom up, starting with the ribbing for the brim. The ribbing is worked using front post and back post crochet stitches. You can easily customise the brim width. Simply just add extra rounds to the brim if you need a wider brim or for a narrower brim simply skip a round before you move onto the main body.
The main body of the hat is worked with a variety of half double crochet, double crochet and cluster stitches.
There are round decreases for shaping towards the crown, after the last round you will use your yarn needle and the yarn tail to close up the hole and fasten off.
The Avery hat can be finished off with a pom pom or worn as a beanie.
